Our Story
Our Story
Brivo started in 2019 as a pop-up stand at Portland's Division Street Farmers Market. Two friends, a refurbished roaster, and a simple belief: good coffee doesn't need to be complicated.

From Market Stand to Storefront
What started as weekend mornings at the farmers market quickly turned into something bigger. Regulars started asking when we'd open a real shop. By 2021, we signed the lease on our Division Street space — a 900-square-foot corner spot with big windows and room for a 5kg Probat.
We didn't write a business plan. We just kept roasting until we couldn't do it from our garage anymore.
How We Source
We work directly with four farms across Colombia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. Every harvest season, we cup dozens of lots and select only what excites us. No filler blends. No commodity beans.

Roasting Philosophy
Light enough to taste the origin. Dark enough to feel like home.
We roast light-to-medium. Our goal is to let the bean speak — not to impose a roast profile on it. Every origin has a story, and our job is to not get in the way of that.

What We Believe
- Traceability matters. We know the farmer behind every bag.
- Simplicity is a feature. A good espresso needs nothing added.
- Community over scale. We'd rather be your neighborhood spot than a chain.
- Sustainability is non-negotiable. Compostable cups, no single-use plastics.
